Frequently asked questions
How many nights of STA does the NDIS fund each year?
Most plans include up to 28 days of STA per year. Your planner can confirm your allocation and PurpleCare can help you use those nights well.
Can STA be used in an emergency when a carer is unwell?
Yes. Emergency respite is a recognised use of STA funding. Contact PurpleCare as early as possible so we can arrange a safe placement quickly.
What is the difference between STA and MTA?
STA is short-term up to 28 days. MTA, Medium Term Accommodation, covers longer transitional stays. Your support coordinator can advise which applies to your situation.
