Welcome to PurpleCare

This onboarding packet collects everything we need to legally employ you and get you ready for your first shift. Allow 20–30 minutes. You can stop and restart but data is only saved when you submit at the end.

What you'll need handy

  • Tax File Number (or a TFN declaration option chosen)
  • Bank BSB & account number
  • Super fund name + member number (or you'll opt for default)
  • NDIS Worker Screening clearance details + expiry
  • First Aid / CPR expiry, drivers licence number
  • Emergency contact details
Privacy: Your data is stored encrypted in our worker management system. Only Tony and Paula access it. We never sell or share it.

Casual Employment Agreement

Employer: PurpleCare Pty Ltd (ABN to be confirmed at execution), trading as PurpleCare.

Position: Casual Disability Support Worker, classified under the Social, Community, Home Care and Disability Services Industry Award 2010 (SCHADS).

Nature of engagement: Casual. No guaranteed hours. Each shift is a separate engagement. You may decline any shift offered.

Pay: SCHADS Level 2 (entry) base rate plus 25% casual loading, plus penalties where applicable (evenings, weekends, public holidays, sleepovers). Paid fortnightly to nominated bank account. Super is paid in line with the Superannuation Guarantee.

Hours: Variable. Minimum engagement is 2 hours per shift unless otherwise agreed.

Location: Participant homes and community locations within South East Queensland unless otherwise agreed.

Probation: First 6 months operate as a review period. Performance feedback at 4 weeks (separate form).

Termination: Either party may end the casual arrangement with 1 hour notice unless a roster pattern has formed, in which case minimum notice under Fair Work applies.

Mandatory pre-conditions of work: current NDIS Worker Screening clearance, current First Aid & CPR, current AU drivers licence, NDIS Worker Orientation Module completion, two satisfactory references.

Casual conversion: Your right to request conversion to permanent under Fair Work s.66B is recognised and will be reviewed at 12 months.

Restraint & Confidentiality Deed

Confidentiality. You will not, during or after your engagement, disclose participant information, health records, family information, business pricing, rosters, or operational know-how to any third party, except as required by law or the NDIS Quality & Safeguards Commission.

Non-solicitation. For 12 months after your engagement ends you will not directly solicit PurpleCare participants for private work, nor recruit other PurpleCare workers for a competing service.

Tools & data. All rostering, notes, photos and records generated through PurpleCare systems remain the property of PurpleCare. You may keep personal copies of training certificates issued to you.

Restraint. This deed does not stop you from working in disability support generally. It restricts only direct solicitation of PurpleCare participants and staff for the period above.

Remedy. Breach may result in immediate termination and recovery of provable loss.

Worker Portal Account

You'll receive shifts, payslips and policies through the Worker Portal at purplecare.com.au/worker. Choose your starting password.

WorkCover Queensland

PurpleCare holds a WorkCover QLD policy covering work-related injury and illness for all workers, including casuals, in Queensland.

  • Report any injury to Tony or Paula within 24 hours, even minor ones.
  • Seek immediate medical attention for any serious injury and call 000.
  • Lodge a claim through your treating doctor with a Workers Compensation Medical Certificate.

Right to Disconnect

Under the Fair Work Act (effective Aug 2024 for non-small business, Aug 2025 for small business), employees have a right to refuse to monitor, read or respond to contact from their employer outside of working hours unless that refusal is unreasonable.

PurpleCare commitment

  • Shift offers sent outside of your stated availability do not require a response.
  • Roster changes for next-day shifts will be flagged urgent.
  • You will not be penalised for not answering messages on your days off, except for genuine welfare emergencies involving a participant.

4-Week Check-in

At 4 weeks Paula will arrange a 20 minute structured check-in. We'll cover:

  • How shifts are going — what's working, what's not
  • Any participant or family feedback
  • Training needs you've identified
  • Roster and availability adjustments
  • Anything else on your mind

Photo / Video Consent

PurpleCare uses worker photos for: (a) participant matching profiles, (b) the public Team page (only if you opt in), and (c) occasional training / marketing material.

Consent

You can withdraw any of these at any time by emailing tonypintolending@gmail.com.

Dress Code

  • Closed-toe non-slip shoes on every shift.
  • Plain, modest, freshly laundered clothing — PurpleCare polo if issued.
  • Hair tied back during personal care and meal prep.
  • Minimal jewellery, no long nails, no strong fragrance.
  • Phone on silent, used only for PurpleCare app and emergencies during shift.
